  • Must physically live in Juneau, Alaska 
  • Hours: Varies - 20 hours/month
  • Pay - Hourly 
  • Pay rate ranging from $20-$25/hour 

The Juneau-based Community Organizer is a contractor position through the Pacific Community of Alaska. This contractor will be expected to work 20 hours/month till their contract ends with PCA. They will be responsible for outreaching to community members about health and wellness events hosted by Pacific Community of Alaska. This role will also be required to provide assistance with planning the time, date, and venue space for these PCA-hosted events in Juneau. In addition, they will be responsible for connecting and keeping regular contact with PCA full-time staff based in Anchorage to communicate this outreach plan.

Responsibilities:
  • Understands and implements Pacific Community of Alaska mission and values 
  • Outreaches to community members about PCA-hosted events in Juneau
  • Organizes location, date, and venue space for PCA-hosted events in Juneau
  • Gathers community members for health and wellness PCA-hosted events 
  • Spreads information about PCA-hosted health and wellness events  across Juneau (word-of-mouth, in-person, social media, and fliers)
  • Translates information for community members in their respective Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander language 
  • Meets with Anchorage-based PCA staff via Zoom, phone call, email, and text to connect about community outreach plan
